Explosive Detection Dog Handler
EDD Handler Role Description: Position for a fully trained and experienced dog handler, capable of working on their own initiative in difficult and challenging environments. The successful candidate should be able to problem find and problem solve using dog-training techniques.
Must be able to take responsibility for all aspects of their EDD's care, training and welfare.
Reports to: Country Operations Manager
Location: Multiple locations, including Iraq, Afghanistan and Somalia
SPECIFIC TASKS
- EDD searches of vehicles and items entering controlled areas
- EDD area searches of specific sites, on a regular or ad hoc basis
- Observing and assessing K9 search and behavioural patterns, and utilising training techniques to correct problematic behaviours
- Kennel cleaning and K9 husbandry
- Feeding, watering and exercising
- Play/Bonding and grooming of K9s
- Recording and compiling all relevant K9 documentation – training records, K9 health checks, scent training records etc.
Requirements- Minimum 3 years consistent/consecutive EDD operational experience, which should include operational experience acquired within the last 2 years.
- Proof of completion of an EDD handler course is required. Proof of EDD certification is required.
- Working knowledge of English is required.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clear criminal record
- Physically fit, without physical defects or abnormalities which would
interfere with performing any general patrol duties, functions and activities
- Between the ages of 25 and 45
- Free from all communicable diseases
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently, particularly when under duress
- Neat, professional appearance
- Valid Passport and Yellow Fever card will be required and ability to travel on short notice period.
Preference will be given to candidates who have previously worked in hostile environments i.e. Afghanistan, Iraq or Somalia

Supervisor Mission Description: Effectively lead and manage all shifts of the site Guard Force under their responsibility, in order to provide the highest levels of security to the Client.
Main Responsibilities: A Senior Supervisor will demonstrate the highest standards of professional skills, behaviour and leadership at all times. They will always look after the welfare and issues of the Guard Force under their responsibility, and actively seek to maintain its morale. The Senior Supervisor is the Company's chief representative on the site, and will control the operations of the entire site on a daily basis. They will also be the Company's key initial point of contact with the Client. They must therefore be experienced, a capable problem solver, highly self-disciplined, resilient, and skilled at maintaining a strong working relationship with the Client.
Reports to: Country Operations Manager
SPECIFIC TASKS
Guard Force Management and Operations
- Regularly inspect the Guard Force, to ensure that uniforms, weapons, equipment and presentation meet the high standards required
- Meet regularly with the Client to apprise them of the state of the contract, and build a strong working relationship with them
- Regularly test the Guard Force’s weapon handling skills and drills, and correct any issues found
- Ensure that the entire Guard Force's skills standards are fit for purpose, and oversee regular training of the ASOs by Site Supervisors
- Ensure that all Site Supervisors know and fully understand the different site procedures and policies that govern our work for the Client
- In the event of a hostile incident or attack, control the entire Guard Force's response, coordinate the evacuation of Client staff as necessary, and coordinate with Country Operations Manager and Host Nation security forces
Welfare
- Look after the key welfare concerns of their Guard Force (including issues they may be having professionally or at home), and communicate any unsolvable major welfare issues to the Country Ops Manager. The Company will always support its personnel when they are experiencing welfare issues
- In the event of a medical issue amongst the Guard Force, coordinate the immediate First Aid treatment of the patient, and coordinate any further medevac as required
Discipline
- Ensure the discipline of the entire Guard Force
- Conduct regular checks to prevent any illegal activities on duty, such as smoking, drinking alcohol, speaking on their mobile phone, leaving the site to eat lunch, or leaving their post at the end of the shift before they are relieved.
- Conduct any disciplinary process in conjunction with the Country Ops Manager
- Always provide the highest example of Conduct and Professionalism to their personnel
Requirements- Military rank of Sergeant-Major, with no less than 10 years’ experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Relevant weapons license and training
- Strong skills in reading, writing and speaking English
- Adept in managing the relationship with the client
- Clear criminal record
- Physically fit, without physical defects or abnormalities which would
interfere with performing any general patrol duties, functions and activities
- Between the ages of 35 and 45
- Free from all communicable diseases
- Strong commitment to the well-being of others
- Excellent decision-making abilities
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently, particularly when under duress
- Neat, professional appearance
- Capacity to work on their feet for extended periods
- Ability to work morning, evening, and night shifts

Site Supervisor will be an excellent example of professional
skills, correct appearance and appropriate behaviour at all
times. They will always look after the welfare and issues of the
Armed Security Officers (ASOs) under their responsibility, and
maintain their morale. Supervisors hold an important position,
as they manage the day-to-day operations of each site and must
be capable of solving basic issues before they escalate. They
must therefore be proactive, resilient, respectful of themselves
and others, and have a highly positive attitude.
Reports to: Senior Supervisor
Specific Tasks:
- Guard
Force Management and Operations
- Inspect all
ASOs under their responsibility at the beginning of each
shift, to ensure that uniforms, weapons, equipment and
presentation meet the high standards required
- Brief all
ASOs on any duty site news or instructions at the beginning
of the shift
- Patrol their
duty site constantly and routinely, to ensure that ASOs are
carrying out their duties correctly. If any ASOs are not
doing their duties correctly, demonstrate and mentor them,
and do not leave them until they understand how they should
carry out the work properly
- Ensure
a correct handover is
made to the next Supervisor / Shift
- Regularly
test ASOs’ weapon handling skills
and drills, and correct any issues found
- Carry
out regular skills training with
their shift, including first aid and firefighting
- Ensure
that all ASOs know and fully understand the different site procedures and policies that
govern our work for each client
- In
the event of a hostile
incident or attack, take
direct control of the Guard Force’s response and make an
immediate report to the Senior Supervisor / Operations Room
- Welfare
- Look
after the basic welfare concerns
of their ASOs (including issues they may be having
professionally or at home), and communicate any major
welfare issues to the Senior Supervisor. IDG will always
support its personnel when they are experiencing welfare issues
- In
the event of a medical issue
amongst the Guard Force, coordinate the immediate First Aid
treatment of the ASO, and inform the Senior Supervisor for
further instructions
- Discipline
- Ensure discipline amongst
the ASOs on their shift. This includes ensuring appropriate
Guard behaviour; ensuring that ASOs appear on duty at the
correct time, and in the correct clothing. Supervisors must
escalate any large disciplinary issues.
- Prevent
ASOs from carrying out any illegal activities on
duty, such as smoking, drinking alcohol, speaking on their
mobile phone, leaving the site to eat lunch, or leaving
their post at the end of the shift before they are relieved.
- Take a record of
all ASOs who commit any infractions, what they did and when.
Immediately escalate any serious issues or emergencies to
the Senior Supervisor
- Always
provide the highest example of

Armed Security
Officer (ASO) Mission Description: Carry out all site
security duties as directed, in order to ensure the complete
safety of the Client within the site.
Main
Responsibilities: An ASO will be an
excellent example of professional skills, correct appearance
and appropriate behaviour at all times. They are
responsible for preventing any harm to the Client,
particularly from hostile parties around the duty
station. ASOs will be expected to constantly exercise
their intelligence and judgement in detecting possible
threats, and deploy their security skills in responding
to active hostile actions. They are further responsible
for supporting the other members of their team / shift,
and assisting the Client where appropriate. They must
therefore be proactive, resilient, respectful of themselves
and others, and have a highly positive
attitude.
Specific
Tasks:
- Access
Control
- Conducting
searches of pedestrians, items/post, vehicles
and passengers that enter the
compound
- Preventing the
access of unauthorised personnel
- Providing an
armed deterrent
- Maintenance of
access control logs and identification
systems

work closely with the Client, and conform to the Client’s
Standard Operating Procedures
- Maintenance of
the highest standards of personal presentation,
